He has been a part of group shows at Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt Divinity, Downtown Presbyterian Church, and the University of Memphis. Steve loves working in various mediums including sculpture, pottery, drawing, painting, recycled materials, and photography. In his free-time, Steve loves spending time with his family, watching movies, creating art, and exploring God's beautiful creation. Steve has been in youth ministry for over 25 years now serving in the Memphis area before moving to Nashville. In May of 2018, Steve graduated From Vanderbilt Divinity School with a Masters in Divinity centered on a concentration in both theological studies and the creation of art. Steve received his BFA from the University of Memphis with a concentration in Graphic Design. Hobbies include reading, guitar, cooking, camping, hiking, and cycling. They are blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. John is married to Rita, whose career in religious publishing was with the United Methodist Publishing House and The Upper Room. John recently completed a term as director of church relations with Martin Methodist College. Project Transformation serves child development and literacy through college interns and congregations in underserved neighborhoods. Golden Cross serves ministries with older adults across the TN Conference. John is active as chair of the McKendree Village Foundation Board and as a member of the boards of the Golden Cross Foundation and Project Transformation Tennessee. John was Nashville District Superintendent 2007–13, then assistant to the bishop and acting director of connectional ministries before retiring in 2017. John Collett has been a clergy member of the Tennessee Conference since 1972 and has served appointments including Bell Buckle Circuit, West Nashville, Donelson Heights, Madison Street in Clarksville, and Belmont UMC 1992–2007.
